Adults and kids will learn from the best in the game at not only batting and bowling skills, but you can get on the mic in the commentary box alongside commentary legends, see how you fare as an umpire…and see if you can catch the most edges ‘in the slips’.
Hear from famous cricketers of past and present recall their favourite moments from the pitch and the dressing room, and maybe have the opportunity to grab a selfie or an autograph or two!
Fancy yourself as the daily champion of the festival? You’ll have chance to show how you stack up against the pros in the hardest hit, fastest ball and highest catch leaderboard challenge
Kids of all ages and abilities will be entertained for hours on end via the skills challenges and coaching zones, taking part in mini matches, chance to meet their heroes…
Where can you find 2 England World cup winning captains and their trophies? At the Festival of Cricket, that’s where! Fresh from his win down-under, and 4 years to the weekend of the iconic win at Lord’s, Capt Jos and Capt. Morgs will be proudly displaying their trophies in our World Cup Hub for you to take pictures and rein act the greatest moments of these incredible matches.
Nets, nets, nets… there will be loads of nets! Whether you are opening the batting/ bowling, steading the middle order or propping up the tail – there will be plenty of opportunity to pick up a bat and ball to test yourself against fellow festival goe – ers … with pros on hand to offer you tips on your technique.
Amateurs and Pro’s will have a go in our cage throughout the Festival. The Cage will be completely enclosed so teams can go full pelt and the crowd can be within close proximity to see and hear everything. The format in The Cage will see every player bat and bowl an over, with runs scored for hitting areas of the walls but runs lost for every wicket. Alongside the usual ways of getting out players will also “lose their wicket” for anything behind square and any ball that hits the roof before passing the bowlers end.
Amateur teams will compete throughout the day, where the top scoring two teams will open the evening session in their final - before our teams of legends have a go!
This is where all the cricket brands and retailers you know will be on hand for you to try and buy all the latest kit, training aids and gadgets to set you up for the season.
You might even pick up a good deal on the next cricket tour… and get to watch how they turn that famous willow into a bat in the bat-making demo area.
Batting and bowling can certainly build up a decent hunger… so as with any great festivals we will have a wide range of food and drink offerings throughout the site
As the day draws to a close grab your mates and join us by the main stage to watch legends in the cage, fun on stage and dance the evening away with our DJ and live bands.
